Haunted houses don’t have to be scary. We’ve known that since “My Neighbour Totoro”. The phenomena that the sisters Satsuki and Mei encounter might be a little strange, but always good-natured. The small soot sprites peacefully hang around old abandoned houses, Totoro and his little helpers are an unhurried and sweet-tempered lot, and the bus cat, who looks a little spooky, is actually completely harmless – and practical!
