Little Danny, who possesses the titular “Shining”, a kind of sixth sense, repeats it again and again and writes it on a door in big red letters – which is how he warns his mother Wendy in time that his axe-wielding father has gone mad. The ensuing scene made film history, and Jack Nicholson’s evil grinning face in the broken door became a symbol of this iconic film.
